Show COAL DEALERS ARE STILL WEEK BEHIND Supply Is Said to Be Just Enough to Keep Up With Normal Demand of Trade. Local coal dealers report that they are still about a week behind in the delivery of orders for coal. While the mild weather has greatly improved the coa! situation here and has allayed the fears of a possible famine, the dealers claim they arc receiving just about enough to supply a normal demand, and coal received re-ceived in such small quantities will not permit of their loading up on reserve stock. 'Die placing of sixty cars daily for a week for unloading, they say, will bring about a situation whereby they can fill their reserve bins and attend to back orders. As it is now, they say, they are , leading a "hand-to-mouth" existence. I According to Denver & Bjo Grande of-j of-j ficials, there were about thirty cars ready j to he placed for unloading in the yards i yesterday, with nineteen more en route to 1 this city and due here this morning. J. j D. Ken worthy, assistant general freight agent, stated yesterday that during the ' forty-eight hours ended at midnight, Feb-! Feb-! ruary U, the Ienver & Rio Grande rail-! rail-! road handled into Salt Luke City from j Utah mines 27U cars of coal, destined to ! Salt Lake and points beyond. |
