Show MACHINIST SENDS BULLET INTO BRAIN John Moork of Fresno, Cal, Commits Suicide at Rear of Hotel; Identity Shown by Union Card. Special to The Tribune. OGDEN, Feb. 12. John Moork. 33 years of age, a machinist, believed to be a resident of Fresno, Cal., committed suicide sui-cide at the rear of the Marion hotel this afternoon by firing a bullet into bis brain. Clarence Chandler and several other boys who were playing in the alley saw the man enter a coal shed at the rear of the hotel building at 2:2 o clock. When they heard the shot a moment later thev summoned Patrolman James Hearn from Twenty-fifth street. The officer found the man dead. Moork had seated himself on the floor of the shed, with his back against one of the walls. The bullet entered his head at the right temple, midway between the eye and ear. Death Is believed to have resulted instantly. After Sergeant C. P. Fitzgerald had been summoned the body was removed to the Kirkendall undertaking undertak-ing rooms. Identification was furnished by means of a union card found in the man's pocket. It showed that he had paid dues to date in local No. 6. International Association of American Machinists. He also was in possession of a railroad ticket from Fresno, Cal., to Colorado Springs, Colo., and S13.50 in cash. The officers also found a booklet asking that information in case of accident be sent to 1-63 L street. Fresno. Undertaker P. F. Kirkendall Kirken-dall has telegraphed to this address. The pistol with which Moork ended his life was a cheap . -caliber revolver. According Ac-cording to the officers who investigated the case, the man had been drinking. |
