Show APPOINTED HEAD OF OGDEN IRON WORKS Robert H. Hodge, Who Was Foundry Expert in Salt Lake for Many Tears, Gets Good Position. Robert H. Hodge, well-known foundry expert, formerly of Salt Lake, and who ' for vears was superintendent of the foundry at the Arthur plant at Garfield, was yesterday named as superintendent of the Ogden Iron works, which is at present pres-ent erecting a new plant in the Junction citv at an approximate cost of $100,000. George J. Silver, also a former Salt Laker, was selected as consulting engineer engi-neer of the new company. For the past seven months Mr. Hodge has acted as foundry expert of the Western West-ern Foundry company of Ogden. He was retained and given the position of superintendent, su-perintendent, following the completion of the plans for the new plant. With the retention of these two experts ex-perts and the securing of Hames W. Silver Sil-ver of Salt Lake as manager of the new company, the executive list is complete with experienced men. The erection of the new plant will come undertheir direction, di-rection, as well as the manufacture of machinery for sugar fartories and other enterprises in the intermountain country. Machinery for the new plant Is already on band and temporarily is being Installed In the old building to "facilitate the handling han-dling of orders already on band. As a result, the iron works "force is being rapidly rap-idly enlarged. When completed, the new building will be one of the most modern and fully equipped in the intermountain region. |
