Show " BOWLING The Business Men passed the buck to the Cubs last night by winning three straight from the Broadways in the City league pin smash on the Orpheum alleys. The Cubs had a one-game lead for the first place and nbw they will have to win three from the Mineralites tonight to hold it. If they win two there will be a tie for first between the Business Men and themselves, but if they should lose two the Business Men will be the City league leaders for two weeks anyway, as the City league will not bowl again until after the holidays. The Broadways rolled some good, consistent bowling, but the games of the Business Men were insistent. "Pop" Hanes was again the stellar performer per-former for the Business Men, a role that he very frequently assumes, and rolled both high with scores of 221 and 593. Warner did the best work for the Broadways. Broad-ways. In the match between the Strepatcos and the Superbas, the latter team rather upset the dope by taking two of the games, one of them by the narrow mar-. mar-. gin of seven pins. Fullerton got the ' high single honors, while Bockholt brought in the high three with scores or 237 and 609, respectively. A number of the bowlers bowl-ers shot mighty fine ten pins, the most noteworthy being the score of G. Walker, with 230, and that of A. Walker, with a count of 229. G. Walker and Sid Maughan tied for second place In the totals with 5SS. Jeglum was the feature of the Telephone league's match last night on the Quinn drives, shooting a high single of 210 pins and a new record high three games for this league of 590 pins. His team, the Construction Department, walked over the traffic -squad and took all three of the games without any trouble. Tonight the games between the Cubs and the Mineralites will be rolled and on the result of the mix hinges the leadership leader-ship of the City league.
