SPRY Governor Also Places His ' Autograph in Flag Book j at State Capitol. j Governor William Spry attached his signature yesterday to the Utah page of a beautiful autographic flag book that is to be the property of the East Knd council, No. 301, Junior Order United American Mechanics, Brooklyn, N. Y. Accompanying the flag book, which came to the governor 's office in the capitol by express, was a silk flag. Each of the stars was left with one of the points not fastened down when the flag was made. A point of the star that represents each state was left so that it might be sewed into place by a representative rep-resentative woman of the state that it represents. Mrs. ypry last night sewed the unfastened un-fastened point of the Utah star on the Hag. Today the flag book and the flag will be sent on their way, the next governor gov-ernor to receive them to be Governor M. Alexander of Idaho. A page of the flag book is devoted to each state of the union, the state coat of arms being set in the middle of a beautifully embossed star in each instance. in-stance. In addition to the signatures of most of the governors of the states the book now bears the signatures of President Wilson and other national officers. of-ficers. t will complete the rounds of a VI the state rnpitols and then be returned re-turned to those who conceived the idea of the book and the flag as mementoes of patriotic significance. |
