GREAT NUMBER OF AUSTRIANS AND GERMANS TAKEN PETROGRAD, via London, July 6. 10:05 p.m. Nearly 500,000 Austfians and Germans have been put out of commission com-mission since General Brussiloff bean his great advance a month ao today. The grand total of prisoners to date is in round numbers 235,000, of which i 4500 are officers. Without the actual figures regarding the dead and wounded, careful estimates esti-mates bv military experts, based on the best information, places tho latter at 200,000 to 220,000. The Austrians predominate pre-dominate overwhelmingly among the prisoners, but among the dead and wounded it is said that a fairly larpe percentage are Germans. The German losses in" stopping the Russian advance on Kovel and in counter-attacks made in solid ranks wore enormous. Enormous Booty. The booty captured reaches incalculable incalcula-ble figures. It is figured that 250 guns of various sizes and upward of 700 machine ma-chine guns is a conservative estimate.
