Show DECLARES SHE WAS BOUND AND GAGGED Mrs. Frances Campbell Complains to Police That Burglars Steal Much Jewelry Prom Her Room. According to Mrs. Frances Campbell, landlady or the Chester hotel on tit ate street, 'adjacent to the city police station, sta-tion, burglars entered her suite of rooms at 10:30 o'clock Wednesday night and took jewelry valued by Airs. Campbell at more than $200. Airs. Campbell declared de-clared yesterday that tho burglars bound and gagged her and threatened her with death should she create any disturbance. Little credence, was placed in her story by the police department, Plain Clothesmeu Brown and Glenn finding few traces of the reported burglars. They made ouo arrest, but the prisoner was released when he furnished an alibi. According to Mrs. Campbell, the two men. one tall and the other short, entered en-tered her suite of rooms bot'nre she was aware of them, and forced her to give up a key to a trunk which she said contained the valuables. After a care-f care-f ill search, she reported to tho police department, the men left, quietly chatting chat-ting together, and boldly walked down the stairs and past the polieo station. When Airs. Campbell reported the burglary she was hysterical, and it required re-quired several minutes before she was able to give a coherent account of what happened. |
