Show Coffee Futures. NEW YORK, July 12. After r somewhat irregular irregu-lar opening the market for coffee futures turned firmer today on covering and trade buying, with September contrncLs Bi'lling up from 8.25c to 8.33c and March from 8.5Sc to 8.65c. There was Gome July liquidation at the start and flr&t prices were 4 points lower to 2 point higher, but tho near-month selling orders were Boon absorbed ab-sorbed nnd demand became more active as prices worked upward, while offerings were restricted by reports that temperatures had worked down to tho freezing point In one section of Sao Pmilo. The close was within a point or two of the best at & net advance of 4 to 9 points. Sales, Including exchanges, 60,750 bags. Finn offers were reported unchanged to about 10 points lower, with quotations ranging from 10.40c to 10.55c for some descriptions of Santos 4s on the basis of Ijondon exert Ha. Tho official cables reported an advance of 75 reis tn the Rio market, while Santos spots were unchanged and futures 25 to 60 reis lower. Santos cleared 51,000 bags for New York. |
