Show INDUSTRIAL SCHOOL STUDENTS MAY ENLIST Superintendent Has Plan Whereby Older J Boys May Join Army or Navy. Special to The Tribune. OGDEN, July 12. As the result of a plan evolved by E. S. Hinckley, superintendent su-perintendent of the state industrial school, and approved by the board of directors of the institution, six of the older boys of the school have applied for permission to enlist in the Lnited States marine corps. The plan as out-- out-- lined by the superintendent is to allow older qualified boys of the school to enlist in the United States array or Davy or the national guard. When the proposition was approved by the board of directors many of the boys immediately signified their willingness will-ingness to take "advantage of the opportunity. op-portunity. No official action will be taken, however, until parents of the students give their consent. The six applications ap-plications already received are being held in abeyance until Superintendent Hinckley hears from the boys' parents. The question will then be put up to the recruiting officers. |
