Show BERLIN REPORTS RUSSIAN DEFEAT ON DVINA RIVER BERLIN", July 12, via London, 5:15 p. m. Russian troops which attempted to establish themselves on the left bank of the Stokhod river, in the advance toward to-ward Kovel, were attacked by German troops and defeated, the war office announced an-nounced today. The official statement follows: An attempt to cross the Dvlna made by weak Russian forces west of Fried richstadt and attacks south, of Xarocz Inke were frustrated. On the Stokhod front the position generally is unchanged. Russian detachments attempted to estnblish themselves on the left bank of the river near Janokwa. Not a single man of these detachments got away from the sou t hern bank. A t thl.s point nnd on the Koy?l-Rovno railroad yesterday we took more than 800 prisoners. The booty taken on the Stokhod during the last two days, apart from a number of officers offi-cers nnd 18.12 men, includes twelve machine guns.
