More than a thousand Welshmen and their families went to Saltair yesterday to attend the nineteenth annual reunion of the Cambrian society of Salt Lake. They congratulated themselves on the day they picked, for it was very, very hot in town and the buoyant waters 01 Great Salt lake invited them. After bathing and other beach pastimes, they gave their reunion programme late in the afternoon in the pavilion. Former Governor Arthur L. Thomas, president of the Cambrian society, inauf the opening address, and the speakers of the day included Governor William Spry and Nephi L. Morris. It chances that both are candidates for the Republican nomination tor governor, but neither made reference to politics. Governor S pry's subject was "Welsh Citizenry of Utah," and he paid hiqh tribute to the type of citizens Wales has given to this slate and to this country. Mr. Morris's subject was "Welshmen in Affairs of Today." The musical event of the prngra.mme was the sinking by Miss Miriam Williams of Wllkes-Barre, Pa., who was the American Amer-ican representative at the international eisteddfod in Wales in lf!3. Other musb-al numbers were given by Miss Li da Edmunds, Ed-munds, Professor Charles Kent. Professor .1. J. MeCk'llan. Miss Mae O'Neill. Horace S. Ensign, Professor H. E. Giles and Mrs. Esther Davis Stephens, who sang "The Flag Without One Stain." The programme pro-gramme concluded with the singing of "America" by the entire assemblage. Dinner followed the exercises, and In the evening the celebrants danced or took in the oilier attractions of the resort.
