Show EXPRESS COMPANIES WILL PAY SALARIES The following letter has been Issued by H. 1 1. Smith, assistant manager of the American Kxpress company, m pursuance uf orders from the central office: "To nil regular salaried employees of the American and National Kxpress companies com-panies who are married men, as well as all single men who have relatives actually actu-ally dependent en them for support, and who have responded to the president's call for military service, an allowance of salary for their period of military service ser-vice until December ;U, 1916, will be tmido sufficient to maxe up any deficiency between be-tween the government rate of pay and any other government allowance which may be mad and the company's rate of pay to such employee at tlie time 'ailed into active military service. An allowance will be made to single men without dependent relatives in sufficient amount to nviUe up any deficiency between be-tween tho government rate of pay and any other government allowances, and one-half the company's rate of pay, to such men at the time they were called into active service. "Should it become necessary, the American and National "Express companies compa-nies will, on or after December 31, UUti, give further consideration to salary allowances al-lowances to be made men in their employ em-ploy who were members of the national guard June 17." |
