Show LAWYER HAS PLAN FOR HIGHWAY FUND Special to The Tribune. SALMON. Idaho, July 12. A. C. Cherry, a local lawyer, Is working on a plan to create a state highway fund of $2,500,000. According to his estimates, it would be possible to pay the interest charges on the bonds and retire them when due from the receipts obtained from motor vehicle licenses. Cherry estimates the annual returns from licenses would be $250,000. Included in the proposed new measure for the improvement im-provement of roads will be suggested grades of higher ta-xatlon for the owners of narrow-tired wagons than for the owners own-ers of wide-tired wagons. Cherry expects to consult with the governor of Idaho and With other leading candidates for public offices in regard to his scheme. The good roads movement is meeting with much encouragement in Lemhi county . and several organizations have been formed to carry on the work. |
