The report of the cHy board of health for the week ending May 3 shows that 53 births wcro reported, 28 males and 25 females. Thirty-one deaths is the record for the week," 21 males and 7 femalos. Six typos of contagious disease dis-ease exist in the city, 50 casoa being reported, of which 19 are smallpox, 5 tuberculosis, 1 mumps, 2 scarlet fover. 4 measles and If whooping cough. For the corresponding week of last year 5C contagious cases were reported, of which 12 were measles, no smallpox existing at that time. The health statistics for the month also were oompilod yesterday. There were 274 cases of contagious and infectious infec-tious diBeaeos reported during the month, consisting of 118 whooping cough, 87 smallpox, 17 measles, 9 chicken pox, 11 German measles, lfi 3carlot fever, S diphtheria 1 spinal meningitis, 4 typhoid fever, 6 mumps, 1 tuberculosis. Last month there were 364 cases m the city. During April there wero 227 births. .134 males and 93 females. There were 10S deaths, 02 males and 4.6 females. During the month thero were 276 loads of garbage destroyed de-stroyed nt the crematory, 18 horses, 2 1 cows. .1. sheen and 239 dogs. j |
