Show MAKE IMPROVEMENTS AT WINDSOR CASTLE LONDON, May -I. The alterations now ncarlng completion at Windsor castlo have chiefly had to do with tho private apartments, which scarcely afforded adequate accommodation to the lata king and Queen Alexandra, and were quite Insufficient to moot the requirements require-ments of their present majesties and their largo family. A great deal of the available space is taken up by the three largo drawing-rooms, drawing-rooms, and the sloeping apartments arc more or less sacrificed. The only rooms of any size Is the king's room, and tho bedroom and boudoir which used to be occupied by Queen Alexandra are very small Indeed. All the rooms open out on the long corridor, where In old days Queen Victoria used to sit after dinner and sip coffee. King Edward would never allow her lato majesty's armchair or table to be moved from their ac-cuBtomed ac-cuBtomed placo near the dining-room door. |
