Evans, Ev-ans, prosidcut of tho Denver, .Northwestern .North-western & Pacific railroad, better known as tho "Moffat road," it is stated that, under the receivership of tho road recently appointed by a court order, the extension of the line to Salt Lake City from Steamboat Springs will bo completed. The statement sets forth tho failure of the Denver Railway Securities company com-pany to secure a renewal o tho $3,500,-000 $3,500,-000 collateral trust notes of tho Moffat road held by tho Equitable company of New York. A half interest in the securities se-curities company is hold by tho D. JI. Moffat estate and the other half by prominent Denver people, and the securities se-curities company in turn controls about eight-olovenths of tho capital stock of the Moffat road, according to the statement. state-ment. Tho failure to secure extensions narily heavy expense incurred during tho past winter in operating the trains o'tr the Continental Divide. Tho ap- pointiycnt of receivers was asked by executors of the Moffat estate for the protection of creditors of the securitios company, tho Colorado-Utah Construction Construc-tion company and of the railway company. com-pany. In regard to tho l'tab extension, Mr. Evans said in part: " Whon the railway is extended to the Uintah basin and to Salt Lako, it will develop a wonderfully resourceful region.
