Show Final Figures Given 1 On Output of Copper The smelter production of primary copper in the United States In 1011 was 1,097,232,749 pounds, as compared with 1,080,159,509 pounds In 1910, an Increase of about 1.5 per cent. Tho production for 3911 Is the largest In the history of the Industry. In the following table the production for 1911 Ik apportioned to tho states In which the copper was mined. The total is made up of tho tine copper content of blister produced and of tho smelter output of Ingot and anode copper from Michigan. The production of 1910 Is given for comparison. In addition to the secondary material treated by the regular refining companies, plants that treated secondary matorlal exclusively, produced a total of 186,311,000 pounds of copper as copper and In brass and other alloys of copper, making a total production of 214,207,727 pounds from secondary sources. Of this total, at least 62,000,000 pounds was produced by remcltlng clean scrap produced in tho process of manufacture of copper and brass articles. If the output of plants treating purely secondary material Is added to the production pro-duction of the regular refining companies, tho contribution of the United States to the world's supply of copper for 1911 Is found to bo .1.648.082.753 pounds. |
