Show Salt Lake Boy Who Makes Hit On the Stage LAWRENCE CLAYTON. HUE CLAVTDW SCOfMCCESS Young Salt Laker Is Complimented Compli-mented for Work on the Stage. According (o a notice in the Michigan Michi-gan Daily, a paper published at the University of Michigan, "Lawren.ec Clavton of this cilj', son of Colonel Ncphi W. Clayton, scored a pronounced success in the leading role of the pla, "Dio Journalisten," presented at Ann Arbor April 26 by tho Deutchcr Vcrein, of which Mr. Claytou is a member. Tn its comment on the performance, the Daily says: "As the leading character of the olav. to Bolz, editor of a party paper, played by Lawrence Clayton, is due an especial praise for clever work and eood handling of the difficult task which he was picked to undortako. That tho clever freshman, who np-nearcd np-nearcd before an Ann Arbor public for the first time last night, acquitted himself with credit, goes without a doubt." The report also states that Mr. Clavton was complimented on his work in the play by one of the members of tho facult3" of tho musical and dramatic dra-matic department of tho university, who said that lie had exceptional talent tal-ent for the staeo and should be successful suc-cessful if he followed acting as a profession. |
