Show BINGHAM COUNTY IS EXPECTED TO GO "DRY" Special to The Tribune. BLACKFOOT. Idaho, July 3. The locai option question Is a live one In eastern Idaho these days. Acting under the coun: ty local option law passed by the last Idaho legislature a petition has been filed with tho county commissioners asking ask-ing that n dale be set for an election to determine whether or not saloons shall be allowed to continue to do business' in Bingham county This petition Is said lo bear the signatures of sixty-five per cent of the voters of the county. The commissioners com-missioners meet net Monday. July 12. If the petition Is found to bo legally filed and to contain the requisite number of signatures, the board has no discretion In the matter, but Is required by law to call the election. The opinion seems general that the oountv will go "dry" by a good majority. Similar petitions have been filed in Bannock Ban-nock county. Idaho, on the south and Fremont on the north, and Hie prospects are that all eastern Idaho will be "dry ' by 1010. |
