Show REPORT ISSUED BY FRISCO COM. COMPAUY Stockholders Given Idea of Conditions Con-ditions in This Beaver County Property. A report has been issued by the Frisco Consolidated Miuing company tclling of the work done and the present pres-ent conditions existing in the property in Beaver county, Utah. There arc several portions of the report which are of interest generally, and they arc here reproduced: Full accounts have been received covoring the period since our last review, re-view, dated April 27. During the monlh of April and. the first two weeks of May the work at the surface was impeded by heavy rains and snows and by impassable roads that prevented haulage of materials, etc.; no such abundance of moisture has occurred in that stale for upward of twenty vcars. Since the middle of Mny weather conditions con-ditions have been verv' good. When the shaft was unwntcre'd the large station sta-tion at tho (500-foot, level was found to bo ruined by a chvc-'ui that had crushed all the timbering. It was filled with fallen rock, broken and tangled tinibers and with water. This debris dammed the water that filled all the workings on tho sixth level, removal of which ivas difficult, slow and dangerous danger-ous for the men, took six weeks' time and was expensive. The shaft, timbering, tim-bering, hoists, pumps, the station ut tho sixth level, also the crosscuts and the drifts on that level are now all in first-class condition for safe and vigorous work. Tho pipes for carrying compressed air to power drills and tracks for tram cars in the levels all had to be relaid with new materials before development work could bo resumed. re-sumed. Work was started at the T). B. and J. shaft a few days after purchase. The old shaft was very smnll nnd not tim bcrcd; it was intended only for prospecting. pros-pecting. Work there consists in enlarging en-larging it for a two-compartment and man-way shaft, heavily timbcrod from (he collar down. Ordinarily, that, shaft has been dry, but excessive rains and seepage flooded it and stopped work at ii depth of sixty feet, until the power plant, hoist and pumps could bo set up. The bad condition of roads prohibited heavy teaming for twenty days; as soon as possible those equipments will be set up at that shaft, which is now enlarged and timbered to a depth of sixty fect. Within sixty days from the time when this hoist is ready for use this work of enlargement and 'timbering should bo completed, and then the short crosscut, to the vein, about fifl.y feet, will be enlarged and equipped with track and tram cars. Then excavation of ore can begin at that point, ospe cially such ore ns will be taken out in the process of development. Owing to the prompt and liberal re spouses lo both the original notice- of consolidation and the notice of installment install-ment duo June 1, tho finances of the company have been in good shape, with all conditions and tendencies favoring continued improvement and strength. Tracers sent out after "lost" lots of Frisco Contact stock nre slowly but gradually locating them and bringing them in. Some protests igainst accepting accept-ing any more exchanges on the original terms of consolidation have been re ceived, but 110 stock has yet been rejected. re-jected. Liquidation of Frisco Contact Mining company cannot yield those who refuse to turn in their shares for exchange into Frisco Consolidated any more than a vory few cents a share, if anything, after deducting any costs that may be imposed by their action. The only safe course now is to turn them In. A full mouthy- roport of all expenditures at the west is rendered rogularly to the Boston office as soon after the close of each month as is practicable. All of the eighteen claims formerly' owned 1)3 Frisco Contact .Mining company com-pany were patented four years ago. Since the acquisition of tho "other four groups of claims they have been surveyed sur-veyed for patents, and some relocations have been made for this purpose, which is rendered possible by the single ownership own-ership of the entire five groups by Frisco Consolidated Mining company. |
