Show REAL ESTATE NEWS AND BUSifeS NOTES Following tho arrival of detailed plans for tho Newhouse holej to be erected at the corner of Main street and I-'ourlh South, from Henry les t.'obb. the architect in Now York, work on tho structure was resumed Friday morning. The work has been delayed for several weeks pending the completion comple-tion of changes in the plans, in order that tho weight of the new building might be known and tho foundation marlo strong enough to resist any tendency tend-ency to settle. It is expected that work will now be pushed with great activity. "Work on the erection of the new Ilolleywood apartments at 2.'M Hast First South will be starttiW in a few days and pushed as rapidly as possible to completion. Tho building will have a frontage of GO feet and a depth of 112 feel. The building will be three stories in height, with thirty four and five-room npnrtmonls, and will bo thoroughly thor-oughly modern in every respecl. It is expected that the excavation will be completed within a few days, and work will bo starred immediately on (he superstructure. The building is to be ready for occupancy by September 1"). The structure is being 'erected by John M. Wilfley, owner of tho present Wil- II.. I c- Work on I he construction of tho $lrccl railroad line on Ninth avenue, on I he north bench, is now proceeding rapidly. The poles for I ho wires are being set and it is expected Unit the laying of track will be started within a ' few days. The completion of this Ktreet car 'line will provide much-needed access lo the upper portion of I he north bench. The locality is being built, up rapidly, and new homes are being erected even as far north as Eleventh avenue. Plans for the new meeting house to be erected for the use of the hatter-day hatter-day Saints in tho Fleventh ward havo just been completed and placed in (he hands of Bishop Morris. Bids for I he construction will be invited as soon as the plans can be approved. The slrnc-ture slrnc-ture will cost about frlO.OOO. |
