Show IRRIGATION CONGRESS PROCLAMATION ISSUED Jn accordance with a request from Chairman Jnsinger of the board of control con-trol of tho .Seventeenth National Irrigation Irriga-tion congress, which meets at Spokano August 0 to 14, Governor Spry has issued is-sued a proclamation calling the attention atten-tion of the peoplo of Utah to tho meeting meet-ing of the congress and urging them to give it their hearty support. The proclamation proc-lamation follows iii full: Impressed by the wonderful Influence wielded by the National Irrigation congresses con-gresses in the development and upbuilding of the west, and realizing the great importance im-portance of the questions which will he discussed at the coming congress. I. William Wil-liam Spry, governor of the state of Utah, do hereby direct tho attention of tho citizens of this state to tho Seventeenth National Irrigation congress, to be held at Spokane, Wash.. August 0-1 I, 1P0D. and urge your thoughtful consideration of Its purposes: "To save the forests, to store the floods, to reclaim the deserts and to make homes on the land." The wanton waste of nature's most generous gifts Is being noted the country over with regret nnd condemnation. An effort toward the checking of this waste Is being put forth In the national "con-servation "con-servation of resources" movement a remedial campaign along scientific lines i for the preservation of our forests and if the reclamation of our lands. V The National Irrigation congress Is a po- 1 tout factor In this national movement, and in addition Is one of western origin. 1.
