As tho story was given to Lieut. IJenipel. tho woman wns tho lawful wifo of Jasper Tillberry and the divorced di-vorced wifo of J. C. Perkcns. Tho latter lat-ter had fomo to Salt Lako from Colorado a fow months ago, and siuco that time had made lovo to his former wife, much against the wishes of tho present husband. Tho affair weut on until last night, wheu it ended in a row on West First South street. Lieut. Hempcl heard tho stories of all parties concerned, and then had a private interview in-terview with tho woman. She promised to live witji her rightful husband, from whom she had run away last Saturday night. The police otlicer then told Perkens to go uwny and mind his own business. Tillberry and his wifo made up in the lieutenant's office, and with instructions instruc-tions to keep tho peace in tho future, went home. It is said the latter has threatened to kill Tillberry if he does not let him havo his former wife back. |
