Show BANKER OF DETROIT COMMITS SUICIDE t Nothing Wrong in His Accounts; Ac-counts; UI-Hoalth Probably i Cause of His Rash Act. , DETROIT, Mich., Jan. -i. Henry C. Potter, jr., of this city, vice-president of tho Peoples' State bank of this city, committed suicide at his homo shortly before 10 o'clock this morning. Mr. Potter had been suffering from nervous prostration for some time. About a month ago Mr. Potter was found unconscious in the bathroom of his residence on Jefferson avenue. Gas was escaping from an open jot. It was staled then bv members of his family that the gas liad been turned on accidentally acci-dentally as he was overcome by an attack at-tack of heart trouble. This morning a shot was heard in the bathroom of Mr. Potter's rcsidonce. When the family and servants entered tho room ho was found dead on the floor with a bullet through his hoad. Cashier George H. Lawson of tho Peoples' State bank stated that ill health and nothing else impelled Mr. Potter to destroy himself. "Mr. Potter's Pot-ter's affairs as vice-president of this bank were absolutely straight and all right," declared Mr. Lawson. |
