Show ASSAULT MADE UPON JUDGE V. C. GUNNELL Special to Tho Tribune. OGDEN, Jan. 4. What 1 said to havo been an unprovoked and cowardly assault as-sault was made upon Juvenile Jud?e V. C. Gunncll this afternoon In his office by T. C. Morris, a painter and papcrhangcr, of this city Judge Gunnell was sitting at his desk in his ou'leo when Morris approached ap-proached and struck him a stunning blow over tho left eye, felling him to tho Aoor, where ho remained until friends rushed to his assistance. Morris Is said to have beat a hasty retreat. Judge Gunnell woro his eyc-glassos eyc-glassos at tho time the blow was struck and ono of the shattered lens produced a severe gash over the left eye. A warrant war-rant was Issued for Morris's arrest on a charge of battery. The troublo Is said to have originated over some business matters. |
