Show DEATH OF LEO LITTLE AT WIELD, Wi Son of Former Mayor of Salt Lake Succumbs lo Pneumonia. Special to The Tribune. GOL.DFIELD, Nov.. Jan. 4. Goldfleld was shocked this morning to learn of the death of Leo Little, who was one of the pioneers of this section, and who was well connected In Salt Lake City. The body will be shipped to the latter city tomorrow by a brother. Charles Little, who has been here for several days. Mr. Little went from Salt Lake to Butte and from there to Seattle, finally winding up In Alaska, where, with "Tc.v" Rlokard, he opened tho Northern, ono of tho biggest big-gest liquor houses In the territory. In 1004 Mr. Little came to Goldfleld and, with Rickard and Morrison, opened the Northern here, which at. that tlmu had ono of the biggest gambling layouts lay-outs in the west and where fortunes were wpn and lost within a few minutes Later, with Charles lioxsse, ho opened the Blue Ribbon bar. News of the death of Leo A. Little, son of Kerainorz Little, former mayor of this city, will be sorrowfully received by those who knew him. Mr. Little was born In this city forty-three years ago, and lived here up to about fifteen years ago. Ho was one of tho first to "enter Dawson, when the gold fever was at Its height, and built tho first cabin In Nome. After a residence of several years In Alaska ho went lo Guldflold, Nov., whore ho had been for tho past three or four years. The first that was known of his Illness was lust Friday, when C. C. Little, u brother, received a telegram announcing the fact that Mr. Little was suffering I from pneumonia. lie hurried to Gold-field Gold-field and procured tho best medical aid possible for his brother, but ho steadily sank and died Monday morning. The body will be brought to this city, arriving Wednesday noon. Funeral services serv-ices will be held from the home of K. W. Little, 126 Second East street, at 1 o'clock Thursday. Burial will he at the City cemetery. I |
