Show SHOT THE WRONG (WAN. Bystander Killed in Saloon Hold-Up in San Francisco. SAN FRANCISCO. April 22. Two robbers rob-bers entered tho saloon of John P. Brutt, on tho corner of Second nnd Brannan streets, at an early hour this morning, and ordered tho proprietor to throw up his hands. Brutt dropped behind the bar when tho robber fired at him. Just then a laborer named Thomas Rcllly, who was in tho saloon, tackled ono of tho robbers. Brutt, who In tho mean-timo mean-timo had secured a pistol, tired at the robber, rob-ber, and It Is believed struck Rollly, who fell fatally wounded to'tho floor. A second shot from Brutt's pistol missed tho robbers, who broko through tho door on tho Brannan street sldo of tho store and mado good their escape. The pollco subsequently arrested a man who was found lurking In a lumber yard two blocks away from tho Brutt placo and ho Is hold on suspicion that ho was connected with tho hold-up. |
