Show HAD A STOLEN BOND. "Was Taken In Famous Hope Burglary of 1878. NEW YORK, April 22. United States Commissioner Rldgoway handed down nn opinion discharging Lewis W. Wllcoxson, formerly of Chicago; James W. Taylor of Whlto Plains. N. Y and James Smith of this city from tho chargo of having in their possession a stolon United States bond. Wllcoxson, a Klondlko promoter, was arrested several months ago for having In his possession a J10.000 I per cent Government Govern-ment bond, which was one of thirty- that were stolen from the Manhattan Savings institution In tho famous "Jimmy" Hono burglary of 1S7S. Taylor and Smith wcro arrested for attempting to negotiate the bond. Commissioner Rldgoway holds that there was no proof to show that thcro wn a deliberate intention on tho part of the defendants de-fendants to violate tho law. |
