Show CAPTAIN E. M, BLAKE COMES TO FORT D0UGHLAS CapL E. M. Blake of the Twenty-pecond Twenty-pecond field battery has been transferred trans-ferred from Fort De Soto, Florida, to Fort Douglas, and lins reached Salt Lake, accompanied by Mrs. 'Blake and their two small children. Capt. Blake will take charge of the battery at the Fort at once, and ho ls highly pleased with his new assignment. He .fays the post at Fort Douglas Is considered or.c of the most desirable in the country, and his visit to the Fort yesterdaj convinces him that he has been most fortunate- In being stationed here. The Captain has been an officer for fifteen years. He is a graduate of the West Point military academy and succeeded suc-ceeded Maj. Tt. W. Young of this city as Lieutenant of the Fifth artillery corps fifteen years ago. He says a regiment of Infantry is now en route to Fort Douglas. The Captain and his family will occupy his quarters at the Fort at once. They "are now at the Kenyou. |
