Show CASE LOOKS DARK FOR MR. J, BURNS J. Burns, the suspect arrested by Officer Carlson on Plum alley, corresponds corre-sponds very closely to the measurements measure-ments of the man wanted at Mt. Pleasant, Pleas-ant, la., for criminal assault on an eight-year-old girl. He was taken to the penitentiary yesterday and measured, according to the Bertlllon .system. They took the length of his lion?, the latitude and longitude of his skull, the dimensions of his ears, the length of his finger Joints and other geographical features of his anatomy. Most of the measurements corresponded exactly to the description, and' the variation in no case exceeded four" millcmeters, or about 4-25 of an Inch. The test has convinced Chief Lynch that he has the right man, and he has wired the Iowa officers to send some one out here to identify him. Burns still Insists that he was never In Iowa in his life. |
