WORK OF VANDALS AT RIVERSIDE SCHOOL Vandalism of the most contemptible character was perpetrated at the Riverside school some time Wednesday night. Since Ai-bor day pupils of the school have been carefully cultivating a model garden planted with flowers, shrubs and vegetables. It was growing beautifully and tne children were taking the keenest delight In watching the transformation of the little seeds Into useful plants and beautiful flowers. The teachers explained the processes going on in nature's laboratory, and, In this way, the garden was made one of the most valuable text book9 in the ;hool. Great was the grief of the little husbandmen hus-bandmen yesterday morning to find their beautiful garden a partial wreck. Tho shrubbery had been broken down, the growing vegetables uprooted and the neat beds trampled under foot. The motive of this devastation Is inconceivable, inconceiv-able, but every effort will be made to detect and punish the guilty parties for their wanton and malicious mischief. mis-chief. Thoprincipal and teachers of the Riverside school are satisfied that the mischief was not perpetrated by any one connected with the school.
