Show Some sympathy has been expressed with Mayor Morris because he had to sign his name five hundred and forty-eight forty-eight times to the refunding issue of city bonds. But the requirements on him in this respect sink into insignificance insignifi-cance compared with the task which Mayor McClellan faces In Now York, of Eignlng thirty-seven thousand new bonds of that city. That is a ftisk indeed; in-deed; and if he gets through with It in three months, in addition to his other duties, he will do well. He hus to make the actual signature, too, for every labor-saving device, by stamp, and otherwise, other-wise, has proved a failure. |
