NOTED EPISCOPAL DIVINE COMING TO SALT LAKE Rev. John R. Mathews, Arch-Deacon In the- Episcopal church and an M. A. of Oxford university, will conduct a mission in this city at St. Paul's church beginning Sunday morning and running for eight days. He will preach In the church every evening at 8 o'clock and at 4 o'clock In the afternoon will hold Bible reading services. The Rev. Dr. Mathews Is not only an eminent divine but he la considered one of the greatest great-est authorities on the Bible. The mission mis-sion will open Sunday morning when the Arch-Deacon will speak at the 11 o'clock service. Special music has been secured for this occasion. For many years Mr. Mathews was Arch-Deacon of Southern Ohio. He has recently held missions In Boise, Nampa and Poca-tello, Poca-tello, Ida, The mission here will wind up his work. The great divine, who is well known throughout both the United States and England, began his religious career as a choir boy In England. Afterwards he Joined the Salvation army and later took a course under Moody. After passing pass-ing through Andover college he entered en-tered Oxford university, graduating from the latter Institution with the degree de-gree of Master of Arts.
