Show DAR Hosts Guests Mrs. Franklin D. Maughan of Ogden. honorary vice president presi-dent general of the National Society of Daughters of the American Revolution and past regent of the Utah Society, DAR. was a guest of the Sego Lily Chapter, DAR. for a luncheon lun-cheon meeting at the home of Mrs. H. Brent Moon. Bountiful Boun-tiful ELECTION OF officers for the office of vice regent and chaplain in the chapter was held. Outgoing officers are Mrs. Rex Hansen, Kaysville; Mrs. Bob L. Wright. Center-ville. Center-ville. Sworn in as new officers are: Mrs. Ralph H. Davis. Bountiful and Mrs. De-Vaughan De-Vaughan Hansen, Farming-ton. Farming-ton. Officers remaining in office are: Mrs. D.-Earl Hess, regent; Mrs. George P. Hibler, registrar; Mrs. Oistein Softe-land. Softe-land. secretary; Mrs. Ruth Haukins, treasurer. Mrs. Maughan reported on the 90th annual, four day, National Na-tional Continental Congress which she had just attended in Washington, D C. The theme of the Congress was the commemoration com-memoration of the "Battle of Yorktown," The 2(K)th year since the victory occurred on October 19 and will be celebrated cele-brated throughout the chapters chap-ters this year. It w as a deciding point in the Revolutionary War, however, the fighting went on for some time after. MRS. MOON reported that nine "good citizen" awards had been presented to high school graduates in our and surrounding schools; five "medical" scholarships and five "American history" scholarship scho-larship had been applied for. Two ROTC medals were presented, one to an outstanding outstand-ing cadet at Clearfield High and one to the U. of U. A F ROTC cadet. THE NEXT meeting will be held in celebration of Flag Day. The Sego Lilly Chapter will be guests of the Golden Spike Chapter of Ogden. The meeting will be held at the Ogden Country Club.
