Show Great Western Chemical Plans To Locate In North Salt Lake Site By MARK D. MICKELSEN NORTH SALT LAKE Great Western Chemical, a Portland-based chemical storage stor-age and warehousing firm, has announced plans to relocate its Wasatch Front facilities facili-ties in North Salt Lake. THE STORAGE and warehousing facilities facili-ties will be located in the new North Salt Lake industrial park between Center Street and Redwood Road, according to Bryce dinger, development manager for the Beneficial Be-neficial Development Co. Mr. Clinger said Tuesday the chemical company has purchased eight acres of land in the park and is planning several buildings, build-ings, in addition to their offices, which will be available for lease. GREAT WESTERN has been operating out of facilities near 2100 South in Salt Lake City, but Clinger said their lease on the buildings expire December 1982. Construction on the Great Western facility facil-ity in North Salt Lake will ;.obably not begin until this fall or early spring 1982. THE BENEFICIAL Development Co -responsible for the overall design of the industrial park has already approached the city council and received approval for construction on the Great Western site. Great Western is a subsidiary of McCall Oil, and has purchased Wasatch Chemical and several other chemical operations since their move into Salt Lake City. The business manufactures no chemicals and operates only as a storage and warehousing facility. Mr. Clinger said the company will have to have relocated in North Salt Lake by the time their lease expires at their present facility. The developer did not say why Great Western had decided to relocate in North Sat Lake. |
