Show West Bounwui By ALICE MITCHELL There's much talk about the Bicentennial and hfe up till now in the U S. Now it's time to take a good look at our-selves-to decide what to accomplish ac-complish for the next two hundred years. It would be a great waste to continue to make the mistakes mis-takes of the past. It's time to make goals to build the nation, na-tion, not to tear it down. These goals should be identified iden-tified in individual communities. communi-ties. Now is the time to build for the future in West Bountiful. Boun-tiful. Now is the time to start to clean-up and fixup. to plant trees, to cultivate the ground, to build great feelings of neighborhness. and above all to gtt an increased feeling of loyalty to the community and its leaders. There was much to be proud of during the past week. Several young people in the area joined the March of Dimes Walk-a-thon last Saturday. Sa-turday. In spite of snow and sleet and dark of day. they started on their 25 mile walk. They had to stop at the first station, but they earned money for their cause. Among the young people involved were: Ebbie Noyes, Karlene Ungerman. Paul Curtis. Carol Barlow, Leisa Maughan, Karen Salisbury, Alicia Carlyle. Karen Harries, Shelley Nebeker, Jackie Ungerman. Amy New-myer, New-myer, Doug Martin and others from the area joined in the great event. There was much illness, but there were many helping help-ing hands, too. Ellna Kilpack was seriously ill and hospitalized. hospi-talized. She showed signs of improvement as the week progressed. Friends and neighbors were on hand to assist and the children were great as they took over the house. Kaye Stephens came home from the hospital for Sunday dinner. This was really a treat, since she must go back to have her heart surgery. Stacey Monson jumped over a fence and sprained both of his ankles. He had quite a time walking on temporary casts as he took his part in Viewmont's "Student Prince." His young sister, Kelly, had a freak accident at school and broke some of her fingers. Attella Miller, mother of Ariel and Elias. had a pin put in her hip and hopes to walk better. She has been hospitalized hospi-talized in Ogden. The Garv Bakers are out again after the flu etc. Ralph Wilson is still hospitalized. hospi-talized. Mane Kern has been hospitalized. hos-pitalized. Chad Bangerter. son of the Victor Bangerters. has been verv ill. We wish all of the ill s clean bill of health. The Jerry Chapmans have been happv to have Mike's wife with them, as she has been recuperating from a knee operation. Susan Hailes and Kaye Mitchell appeared in concert with the Mormon Youth Choir and Svmphony at the Tabernacle Taber-nacle Saturday night. The program featured a procession proces-sion of the noble composers in Russia, including Rimsky-Korsakov, Rimsky-Korsakov, Rachmaniff. Prokofieff. Mussorgsky, and Borodin. President N. Eldon Tanner was present. Also in attendance were Russian scientists from the exhibition at the Salt Palace. Brant and Jill Williams announce an-nounce the birth of a baby boy. The family resides at lfi22 N. 725 W, Steve and Sue Flanders, who live in the basement of the Billy Flanders home, have a new baby girl. Congratulations! We extend sympathy to Mane Peacock, who came back to town, just in time to attend the funeral of her father. John Moss. He has been living at City Center Trailer Park. He has been a life-long resident of the Woods Cross area. He will be greatly missed.
