Show West Btfl. One of the qualities needed in a growing community is that of creative inventiveness. This is amply demonstrated in the family of the Alan Marsdens. This past week they decided to take a trip to Ogden, via the Mass Transit System. They said it was delightful to stop at each of the towns, instead of speeding down the freeway. It took fifty minutes to get to Ogden. , They suggest that Saturday is a good day to travel and to learn more about the small stops in Davis and Weber Counties. Carol and Ron Bangerter journeyed to Idaho to watch the Viewmont Drill Team in action. They saw daughter Chervl. and friend Cindv Lovelis. The Lovelises also went to the Gem State to see their daughter. Last Sunday the Vern Belchers attended the Welcome Wel-come Home Meeting of Vern's sister Lou Dean Belcher. She had returned from a mission to Australia to her home in Midvale. The family enjoyed her remarks and also slides of Australia. Vern Belcher, Brandt Child, and son Robert journeyed jour-neyed to Sacramento on business. Robert stayed in California for a visit. The Oscar Blancos are changing their style of life. They are taking over the 4-State 4-State Steel and Pipe Company on 8th West. Charmaine's father, Parker Thomas will work with them until they leam the ropes. He has been managing the business for 41 years. The Evan Ashbys, the Jim Holbrooks, and the J. R. Bangerters accompanied the Young Ladies' Drill Team of the West Bountiful Second ward, to Weber State, where they performed last week. Happy birthday to Helen Layton. She "lucked out" on her birthday party because of sickness in the family. Mary Ellen Toone's children had the chicken pox. Everyone in the area will be interested to learn that the "ball has started to roll" on the Valley Music Bicentennial Production of the Bountiful Utah West Stake. Barbara DeBoer is excited over the original script she is writing. Anyone who is interested in participating in the production produc-tion should contact Barbara DeBoer, 292-0115; or Roland Chisolm, 292-1775. Mr. Chisolm is high councilman in charge of the affair. Remember this weekend is LDS General Conference. There will be no meetings in the wards. Conference sessions ses-sions may be viewed on TV or listened to on radio. The West Bountiful Second Ward is planning a social and dance for April 17. All members 14 and over are invited in-vited to attend. There will be a live band which promises to play all kinds of music. Relief Society in the West Bountiful Ward will be held Monday, April 5, instead of April 6, the day of the final conference session. Randy Muir was sustained to the office of a Sunday School teacher and Ruby Evans to the office of ward newspaper chairman in the Second Ward. Happy birthday to Gerrv Mitchell, ven though it is belated. He was honored this week with a dinner. Guests in attendance were: Grace Mitchell, Todd and Kelly; John and Kay Napier, Salt Lake City; Nancy and Larry and Lodge and Forrest, of Bountiful; and Ted and Diane Stephens and Dustin and Jake, friends, from Salt Lake City. |
