Stake's Bicentennial spectacular spec-tacular "The American Family, 200 Years Together" to be presented May 6, 7 and 8 at the Regional Center. THE production is from an original script written by i Harry Phillips especially for Vf this Bicentennial event. Ilj Mr. Phillips,-an executive in a group insurance firm in Salt Lake City, has written numerous plays, most for use Jin LDS Church activities. He well represented in the (published volume of LDS ;hurch plays. "THE American Family, I f GORDON JOHNSON 200 Years Together" is a pageant of family experiences, representing some ten eras of time in our 200 year history. The total production features a highly entertaining balance between drama, music, dance and comedy. One of the many highlights will be a 1920's scene staged in all the razzle-dazzle of that jazz age. THE production will be staged and directed by George Stoll, who has an extensive ex-tensive background in acting and directing here and abroad. Mr. StolPs most recent assignments as-signments have been in the speech department at Bountiful Boun-tiful High and on the stage at the Promised Valley Playhouse. George Stoll resides in Bountiful. THE production will feature fea-ture a cast of some 300 people. The total cast will participate in a finale number with original music written by Lorain Wilkinson. "The American Family, 200 Years Together" will be the sixth production on the Valley Music Hall stage for Mr. Johnson, who is vice president and creative director direc-tor for a Salt Lake City advertising ad-vertising agency, and who has been associated with various aspects of entertainment for the past 30 years. IN HIS present position he writes and produces radio and television commercials, but his great love lies in the field of variety entertainment. Mr. Johnson is a resident of Bountiful and currently serves on the Bountiful Utah East Stake High Council. BECAUSE of a unique method of transition between scenes, the production will not be presented in the round. Audience capacity for each performance will be limited to 1,500. The public is invited. No admission will be charged, and curtain time will be 7 p.m. The production will be presented three nights, May 6, 7 and 8. |
