HE SAID that he would no longer participate in encouraging en-couraging others in disobeying disobey-ing the tax laws. Judge Anderson An-derson told Herbert that those who protest must do it properly and not disobey the laws of the land. He placed Herbert on 36 months probation and stated that if he betrayed his trust, a hearing would be held to revoke his probation and he would be required to serve his prison term. HERBERT FACED a maximum of 3 years in prison and a $30,000 fine for failing to file proper tax returns. He had originally filed bland forms 1040 which only listed his objection to the income tax laws. |
