I I Carbon monoxide claims Vernal man near Duchesne A 26-year-old Vernal man was found dead slumped over behind the wheel of his running automobile early Thursday morning on U.S. 40, 12 miles west of' Duchesne. The Utah State Medical Examiner said Friday, that John Edward Cunningham Cun-ningham Jr., died of carbon monoxide asphyxiation. Cunningham was found in his undamaged un-damaged car which apparently had been driven off the side of the road. There were apparently no marks or injuries to the body, Trooper Heber Smith, investigating officer, said. The body was taken to Salt Lake City where the Utah Medical Examiner performed an autopsy to determine the cause of death. The medical examiner placed Cunningham's time of death at about 1 a.m. Trooper Heber Smith found the man at 1:30 a.m. Thursday.
