Show Fish and Game Dept. . Spokesman Cites New Activities By lame BatM District Comarratlon Officer MLncnvlll BMrrolr Minereville Reservoir, located ten miles west of Beaver along Utah Highway 21, will remain open to year-round angling as it is currently listed in the 1962 fishing proclamation. The reservoir was treated last fall to eradicate the trash fish populations. It was re-stocked in the late fall with a fingerllng plant of 40.000 rainbow. Gill net tests made this winter by Bill Arnold, Regional Fisheries Supervisor, Su-pervisor, show the fingerllngi have made excellent growth and are now averaging about eight inches in length. Dog Packs Several packs of dogs have been seen running along the foothills north and east of Cedar City. Dogs running in packs can become vicious killers of game and stock; therefore, we would appreciate the efforts of dog owners in keeping them on a leash or penned especially at night. Aerial Surveys Last week we tried again to count the elk on Cedar Mountain, Moun-tain, Mt. Dutton and Indian Peaks. Due to lack of snow on the south facing slopes, we were unable to count the animals from the air. We will try to make some counts by horseback during dur-ing our spring-range riden, but we will riot be able to mnke another an-other aerial survey until next year when we get proper snow cover. Deer Range Rides Our deer range rides are in progress and we would appreciate appreci-ate hearing from people interested interest-ed in participating.
