Show Vernal boy honored at Hill AF Base Glen Hill, son of Mr. and Mrs. Chuck Hill of Vernal, attended a Civil Air Patrol encampment at Hill Air Force Base June 13 to 20. Civil Air Patrol, an auxiliary of the United States Air Force, is an organization which teaches aerospace education, helps in search and rescue operations and carries on an education program for young people lien received several honors while attending at-tending the special Air Force camp. Because of his outstanding appearance in uniform, his strict adherence to the discipline requirements, and his willingness to serve, he received an Honors Cadet Certificate, a parachute pack and T-shirt, and a $r() savings ixnd. Gabe Pfeifer, John Luthi, Joe May, James Smarr, Marvin Wood, David Andreascn. and Kick May played at "War Games" - exercises in survival during a combat situation -- with the Green Beret instructing them in "how to slay alive." The exercise was a success and Army and Civil Air Patrol Officials were pleased with the outcome. |
