Show Memorial service held for Kenneth Kehn Tuesday, June 30, 1981 at St. James Catholic Church a memorial service was held for Kenneth Kehn of Vernal. Kenneth was killed in Oklahoma while on vacation and was a member of the Civil Air Patrol, the group sponsoring the service. Members of the Civil Air Patrol, Kenneth's parents and friends were welcomed by Father John Kokal. A poem, "Chrysalis" was read by Cadet John Luthi followed by Cadet Sergeant Gabe Pfeifer reading Psalm 23. The euloev was given by Lieutenant Ralph Wood. Executive officer of the Vernal Civil Air Patrol Squadron. The "Commander's Commendation Award for Outstanding Duty Performance," the highest honor to be given a cadet, was presented to Kenneth's parents following the eulogy. Cadet Glen Hill read sections of Psalm 104 with the congregation responding in prayer. Lieutenant Robert Workman. Aerospace Education officer, read "Death" from the book, "The Prophet". The reading of an original poem for Kenneth Kehn was then read by Captain Ruth Grin-stead, Grin-stead, Cadet Commander in charge of the education of the young members of the squadron. The service was concluded by a prayer from Father Kokal from the Service for the Dead. |
