Show Traveling tent show coming to library The Utah Endowment for the Humanities and Sunrise Lions Club will jointly sponsor the Traveling Tent Show at the Uintah County Library in Vernal July 16 to July 18. Based on the theme "Changes and Constants," the Tent Show is designed to highlight some of Vernal's traditional skills and values. This knowledge can improve the quality of life in the face of the rapid development now overtaking our region. According to Wallace Goodard, Sunrise Sun-rise Lions Club pres., programming includes a community play, a puppet show, readers theatre and workshops including family' and oral history. Representatives of the Utah State Historical Society, Utah Folklife Center, Utah Women's History Association and Energy and Man's Environment will provide part of the show. "Although the programs are designed to be educational, the tent atmosphere should allow people to relax and enjoy the show," explains directors Alan Crooks and Nancy Taniguchi. Both daytime and evening performances will be presented with a different program offered each day. |
