Show Traffic counts for May Traffic volumes on the highway systems of the state show an overall increase of 2.3 percent for May compared com-pared to the same period last year, according to the Utah Department of Transportations Traffic Bulletin. Traffic volumes increased 1.7 percent for the first five months of this year compared to last year. Traffic volumes leading into the Uintah Basin in the UDOT May report are as follows: Interstate 80 at Parleys Canyon 20.1 percent increase in traffic volume for the month and 14 percent increase for the five month period. U.S. 40 at Daniels Canyon traffic was up 14.2 percent for the month and 21.5 percent for the period. Traffic volume on U.S. 40 east of Jensen increased 23.3 percent for May and 23.5 percent for the five month period. SR 44 north of Vernal traffic was up 18.4 percent for the month and 14.8 percent for the period. SR 87 north of Duchesne traffic decreased nine percent during the month and decreased 7.8 percent for the five month period. Traffic on U.S. 40 west of Roosevelt was not recorded. |
