Miller hurled a three hitter. The game was knotted at 3-al! going into the final inning of play. Parks used four walks and a single by Kandy Soderquist, one of his two for the game, to score all three runs. leading hitter for Southwestern was Dallas Jones with two hits in three trips. Charles Judd of Bradshaw Chevrolet is the leagues leading batter with a .611 average. He is followed by Brad Jackson hitting at a .545 clip, Curt Peterson, an even .500; Steve Starr, .454 and Bruce Nakken at .444. Parks picked up another win early in the season with a 12-6 victory over Morton Metal. Again it was Miller on the mound with Lance Prestwich charged with the loss. Morton Metals pitchers gave up 15 walks in the contest. Dean DeMille was the top hitter of the game with two hits in three trips including a double. Brad Jackson, Curt Peterson and Bruce Nakken all had two hits in the losing effort for Morton Metal. Behind the pitching of Dave Middleton, Southwestern South-western Realty defeated Bradshaw Chevrolet by a score of 5-2. Charles Judd suffered the loss. Both pitchers had 10 strikeouts and both gave up only two hits. Dale Corry belted a triple and Nathan Johnson had a double and scored two runs for the winners. Lance Prestwich was on the mound for Morton Metal for their slim 6-5 victory over Bradshaw Chevrolet. Kerry Cox suffered the loss. Brad Jackson was the top hitter in the contest with three hits in four trips including in-cluding two singles and a double. He also had four stolen bases. For Bradshaw Judd was two for two and Paul Hatch had 2-3 at the bat including a double. In the contest Roger Seegmiller doubled in two runs in the first inning. Bradshaw came back and took a 5-4 lead into the last inning. Morton got things going with a single and stole second. Curt Peterson was intentionally walked. An attempted pickoff went wild and both runners moved up. With two out Bruce Nakken tapped an infield single that scored both the tieing and winning runs. Charles Judd hurled a no hitter for Bradshaw Chevrolet as they downed Parks Sportsmen by a score of 14-1. Randy Soderquist suffered the loss. In the process of his no-hitter Judd collected 13 strikeouts. Cole Adams was the leading hitter with three to his credit and he also scored three runs. Craig Jensen was on the mound for Southwestern in their 6-1 win over Morton Metal. Jensen struck out 8 and gave up four hits. Lance Prestwich, who suffered the loss had six strikeouts and gave up only two hits in a losing effort. Both of those hits were to Jensen. Curt Peterson was 2-3 2-3 for Morton. In a battle Saturday night Southwestern Realty put a little icing on their league lead with a 6-4 victory over Bradshaw Checrolet. Dave Middleton was on the mound for the victory. Kerry Cox suffered the loss despite the fact that he gave up only five hits and had nine strikeouts. Middleton gave up seven hits and had five strikeouts. SWR scored four runs in the third inning on four walks and a single by Kevin Jones. Kendall Smith and Paul Hatch each had two hits for Bradshaw. Morton Metal picked up a 6-4 victory over Parks Sportsmen in other action Saturday. Brent Crandall was the winning pitcher with Dean Miller charged with the loss. Morton scored five runs in the second inning on three walks and four hits. Parks scored two runs in the last inning and had bases loaded when Lance Prestwich, in relief, collected a strikeout to end the game. Steve Starr and Curt Peterson had two hits each for Morton while Kevin Webb and Scott Henderson had two hits each for Parks. |
