Show Parowan CityCouncel approves 1 70,000 Budget read by Mayor Robinson. The letter indicated that based on available recreation funds the School District was allocating Parowan City $2,000 this year to be used in the city's recreation programs. Attorney Isom presented information for the Council's review regarding a sewer and water line extension policy. The Council a pproved proceeding with the agreement outline as presented with some changes on a motion by Councilman Joseph. Councilman Adams seconded the motion and a unanimous vote followed. The Council authorized Isom to draft the outline as approved and present this at the next regular meeting for review. An ordinance concerning this proposal will also be drawn for Council approval. tne Parowan City Council approved a $170,772, budget for the coming fiscal year in their meeting Wednesday evening. Major anticipated revenue sources shown in the budget are property taxes, $48,000; Utah Sales Tax, $25,000; and federal revenue sharing funds, $23,000. Expenditures anticipated for the coming fiscal period include $46,172 for police department, $29,000 for streets and sidewalks, and $11,600 for swimming pool, $13,700 for library and $8,850 for administrative salaries. In other business, the council approved a request from the Planning and Zoning Commission to rewrite re-write the present Subdivision Sub-division Ordinance. Water rights and their development develop-ment were expressed as the main concern. The Council reviewed the recent problem created on the sewer line extension on east 5th North Street. Attorney At-torney Isom indicated that the line would not necessarily be under city jurisdiction until the line is accepted for maintenance by Parowan City. Those desiring to connect to the line can be charged a per foot cost as proposed previously in addition to regular connection fees, he said. The Council reviewed the electric fine extension in the Rodney Adams subdivision. Councilman Wood agreed to wait on further action concerning this matter until the Power Board meets once again. The Council reviewed a request to have the city sponsor the Honolulu Symphony Orchestra next year. Councilwoman Ben-tley Ben-tley agreed to contact neighboring neigh-boring communities for possible firm committments before any action is taken. Councilman Benson discussed the possibility of a utility connection charge for new hookups. This fee would go toward offsetting added expenses to the city and the purchase of more water rights.
