J County Fair plans Underway "The 1978 Iron County Fair-one of the finest affairs af-fairs in Southern Utah-will be one of the biggest Iron County Fair celebrations in history," Garth Jones, parade chairman stated this week, "and once again, we are looking forward to this event staged for September 1, 2, 3, and 4." The Fair Committee is starting to plan early for the festivities which will include Miss Iron County Queen Pageant, Miss Iron County Rodeo Pageant, rodeos, horse racing, chariot racing, exhibits, carnivals, and the Annual Labor Day Parade J that is one of the best attended at-tended of all fair evetns. Last year's Iron County Fair Parade winner was entered by Parowan Trading Center with other cash prize winners being Monty's Cedar Service, Parowan City, Parowan Third Ward Primary, Fonda Beckstead on a Morgan Stallion, and "Patches" the clown. Awards were given to horse teams, bands, marching groups, and miscellaneous entries. Awards and prizes will also be given to winners this year. Jones said he extends a special invitation to anyone interested in placing entries in the parade to contact the Cedar City Chamber of Commerce office, The Labor Day Parade is scheduled for September 4 at 10 a.m. |
