Show Large Crowd Pays Tribute To Mr. and Kirs. Jas. Giles' MYTON (Special) The Myton LDS ward chapel was crowded Sat-, urday afternoon from 1 p.m. till i 3:30 p.m. when friends and rela-i tives gathered to extend congratulations congrat-ulations to Mr. and Mrs. James Giles on their Golden Wedding anniversary. A program of readings, musical numbers, vocal selections and a I history of the past 50 years of the j lives of Mr. and Mrs. Giles "was given by members of their family jWith the grandchildren furnishing much of the entertainment. I THEIR GOLDEN WEDDING Mr. and Mrs. James Giles of Myton were royally feted last Saturday at the Myton LDS ward chapel when hundreds of friends and relatives came to honor them on their Golden Wedding anniversary. They are active church and civic workers and early Basin settlers. master of ceremonies, introducing the entertainment, and adding clever clev-er stories about his brothers and sisters and their happy families. Mr. and Mrs. Giles were especially espec-ially pleased by the attendance of Mr. Giles' older brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. John T. M. Giles, who came from Heber for the event. The couple had celebrated cele-brated their 65th wedding anni- versary in February, and their grandson, Theron Clayburn, had driven them out for this occasion. Following the program, delicious refreshments were served to the j large attendance who greeted Mr. i and Mrs. Giles and presented them I with many nice gifts in token of j their friendship. Later in the afternoon af-ternoon the immediate members of the family joined together for a family reunion and to enjoy a tempting lunch prepared by daughters daugh-ters and daughters-in-law of the Giles family. One son, Rex Giles, was unable I to be present, but he was represented repre-sented by two daughters and a son. The other 8 members of the family were present: Clifford Giles and wife and 4 children of Ogden, Mrs. Mary Rhodehouse and husband hus-band and 2 married daughters and 3 children of St. Anthony, Idaho; Guy Giles and wife and 4 children and Mrs. Betty Jenkins and husband hus-band and 3 children of Othello, Wash.; Mrs. Christina Fitzgerald, her husband and 6 children of Bridgeland; Mrs. Rachel Martin, her husband and 8 children, Don and Jack Giles and wives and their children, all of Myton. Other members of the family present were Mr. and Mrs. John Giles and grandson, Theron Clay-burn Clay-burn of Heber; Mr. and Mrs Eph McMillan, Park City; Mr. and Mrs. Reed Lewis, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Wm. Price, of Heber and her 3 married daughters of Midway;, the ladies being sisters and nieces of Mrs. Giles, and Mr. and Mrs. Wheatley Gibson, of Heber, a brother and sister-in-law of Mrs. Giles; Mrs. Grace Gibson, Mr. and Mrs. Forrest Giles and family, all of Heber. Many old friends from this district and other parts of the state also were present. |
