Show P. G. Routes Union 33-0 In Final Game For Cougars The champions of the Alpine division, di-vision, Pleasant Grove, last Friday proved to the Cougars from Union High why they were champs, and why they'll be plenty tough as competitors for Class B honors, as they routed the local kids 33-0 at P G. Coach Ned Alger's team remained remain-ed unbeaten this season, and will go into a quarter-final game Saturday Sat-urday with Springville, champs of the Nebo division. The winner of this game will meet either Moab or Millard the next week. Finals are set for Nov. 18. Coach Ted Heath started his usual us-ual team and for a few minutes they played on even terms with the Vikings. But once their sophomore sopho-more sensation, Paul Allen, and a junior flash, Hal Lewis, began to run, the Congars were beaten. The first period ended 13-0 for P G. During the second half of the game Coach Heath sent in his sophomores soph-omores and juniors who had ridden rid-den the bench most of the year, for a bit of experience which they got. Last Game For 11 Eleven seniors played their last football for Union in the P G game. They are Co-captains Larry Ross and Clayton Huber, end and quarterback; Heber Rasmussen, Rondal McKee, and Lynn Hullin- ger, ends; Ronald Anderson and Jerrald Broderick, guards; Ll'oyd Duncan and Jackie Bailey, halfbacks, half-backs, Dwain Horrocks, tackle, and Lynn Morrill, full-back. Coach Heath will have a lot of promising youngsters back next year to again try to wrest the Region Five honors away from Moab. There is some talk that the State Activities Association might change their region set-up another year, which could send Union and Uintah into another league. - Basketball Is Next It won't be long until' basketball will be in full sway. Officially high school teams can not begin practice prac-tice until the football finals are over with, which means nothing will be doing on the waxed floor until the Thanksgiving week. Coach Glen Allred will have several sev-eral members of last year's team back to build from, and a lot of good juniors, who played on the !B team last year.
